L’unica PARANORMAL ACTIVITY del film, sono gli incassi ingiustificati!
Incredible. This film is collecting a lot. Especially in relation to the cost of construction that is nothing short of laughable: $ 15,000. The film on the other hand is not worth more. Indeed this is already a budget, however ill-spent. But what I regret most is that the word fails to deter others in unfortunate submit to the torture of witnessing one of the most ugly and pointless films I have ever seen ever. And I can say I have seen many.
advertising the film dares statements that should be put on trial as a blatant false advertising. Beginning in comparison with "The Blair Witch Project" which at least had the merit of being one of the first examples of movies shot with handheld cameras and trying to make sense of the reality of the events narrated, or in a word a clear example of so-called mockumentary. Not to mention that our "Hannibal Holocaust" by Ruggero Deodato, the 1979 film, could rightly be considered a precursor of the genre, even seen by some critics a real snuff movie, so some of his pictures were realistic, especially about the killing of animals, but not only (but we hope that was not true, of course). Anyway I even "The Blair Witch Project" at its output, however, much liked for what I remember, for sealing narrative tension and atmosphere, as opposed to "Paranormal Activity", it could almost be considered a masterpiece, so it is flat and tedious history of the proposed director Oren Peli. The other much vaunted strength, namely that Steven Spielberg has described the film as one of the most terrifying and frightening I've ever seen, takes on even after the first ten minutes the bitter taste of a bad joke, a joke that would laugh so much if the audience had not really spent their money for the ticket and was not aware that it is (also) due to statements of this is absolutely intolerable in good faith, that the film is collecting millions of dollars. Also because Spielberg is the man or the most impressionable of the world, or had never seen a horror movie in his life before. Or again, but we prefer to exclude it, is simply a liar!
You might think that the trick used in this kind of film has already stew. That now, after The Blair Witch Project, the "play" della finzione/realistica avesse già esaurito tutte le sue potenzialità. Nonostante la premessa ricca di potenzialità (le possessioni demoniache, le presenze, le case infestate, sono già di per sé argomenti pregni di inquietudine) e soprattutto l’idea di filmare quel che accade durante il sonno appeared particularly attractive, but the film is so boring that get to the end (among other things only an hour and twenty) is nothing short of exhausting. And certainly not for the thrill of terror. On the contrary, to be bored, because you would gladly take a nap, rather than continue to endure the ramblings to say the least foolish of the two protagonists. And here we reach the last point of hammering promotional "nightmares are warranted." But that nightmare, the film indeed induces sleep much better than a cup of chamomile. The only thing that kept me awake while watching, were the crowds and the buzz of teenagers in heat (now totally unable for the most part being in the cinema, on TV too accustomed to home), who evidently hoped that the film would be an opportunity for some to embrace Palpatine / jolt of terror. Hope that will be disappointed, given the level of tension that the film is able to arouse.
Paranormal Activity has a slight surge in the last minute. But the ending is certainly not enough to lay claim, in retrospect, about everything we saw before the last two minutes. The dialogues of the two sweethearts foolish nervous. The characters do not appear credible, they have no period of transformation during the affair that is able to engage the viewer emotionally. Not only that, the identification is in any case impossible precisely because the protagonists of vicneda are irritating (especially him), their choices are not justified by the narrative point of view - something very serious - not, however, from that of simple common sense and appear far-fetched, ridiculous, and their behavior in general, therefore, it is rather stupid. Also their love relationship does not involve and is not convincing. Is not shown. Does not show their intimacy (of course I do not mean sexual), their background does not exist, their lives outside the home and the alleged demon (do not speak virtually on the other, oh yes he talks about his new video camera) is nonexistent, their alleged fear is not perceived (totally false), the nodes narrative or the turns of a typical history are reduced to a minimum escalation of noise (even stronger) and a few rare paranormal event (the door or bed sheets that move , a broken picture, she is dragged away by an invisible force), from night to night, for twenty long nights, that appear endless though condensed into just over an hour.
In summary, the cut amateur filmmakers from filming (who knows what was said by a stylistic choice or lack of budget) and the absence of the soundtrack - to strengthen the sense of realism of the shooting (but again see previous parentheses) - and certainly not convincing merits are not sufficient, since the service of a really badly managed. That is to say that the lack of budget and can not be an excuse in this case does not raise at all admiration, from the standpoint of making the film. Hats off instead for the promotion - even if the limit of legalized scam though - which led to a less than mediocre film, which could definitely do without, to become a blockbuster. We hope that this does not lead an army of would-be filmmakers DIY groped a disreputable emulations.
